Solution 1

  • Firstly, close QuickBooks and open IE.

  • Finally, choose the Content tab by clicking on the globe icon.
  • Also, Check if content adviser button is Enable.
  • Now, move to the Connections tab and follow the steps mentioned below:
  • Select Never Dial a Connection.
  • Remember to choose the right ISP and then click, OK.
  • Then, select the LAN Settings option.
  • Check if automatically detect settings check box is enabled.
  • Also, verify that Use a Proxy Server checked is Disable.
  • At last, click on, OK.
  • Now, choose the Advanced tab:
  • Select Restore Advanced Settings option.
  • Look for Use TLS 1.0, Use TLS 1.1 and Use TLS 1.2 options.
  • Make sure that Use TLS 1.0 is checked and the others are unchecked.
  • Close the Internet Options and choose OK.
  • Shut down Internet Explorer and restart your computer.
  • In the end, open QuickBooks and try to update again.
Solution 2
  • Firstly, select Help, then select Internet Connection Setup.
  • In the next step, choose “Use my computer’s Internet connection settings to establish a connection when this application accesses the Internet”.
  • Perform the update again:

For QB 2008 and newer versions: Select Help and click on Update QuickBooks >> Update Now tab.

For QB 2006 and previous versions: Select File and click on Update QuickBooks >> Update Now tab.
